Garden fence?
My next door neighbour has just put up a fence within the regulation 2m height however their garden in raised another 2ft above mine so the fence from my side is aound 8ft. Is this legal? Thanks

- Yes. Poviding that the fence itself is no more than 6 foot high. It is not his fault that his garden is raised.
- Yes. Think of it as trees or tall shrubs on their side instead of a garden. You would not be complaining about trees and tall shrubs. Plant something pretty on your side of the wall.
- Can you get a sight of the deeds of your house, it should tell you on there. I f rented property ask the landlord. Good luck.
- In my county you have to put your fence one or two feet in from the property line. You might check on the law and make sure it was put in the right spot. Things like this can cause a war between neighbors. I hate my neighbor because he will not let me cut down trees wrecking my fence.
- If you can PROVE you are losing light then you may have a case.
- Put up some trellis on your side of the fence Plant some climbing plants like clematis against it you may find you would thank them
